Absolutely. If you have a group of friends or family, we can arrange a private departure for any of our routes. Please note this in your booking request.
During the Trip
Our tours are designed for slow travel. There is moderate walking involved (exploring villages, farms, and light forest trails). No extreme trekking is included unless specifically noted.
We use comfortable, air-conditioned VIP vans for the main travel routes. For certain mountain terrains, we may use local open-air trucks (Songthaews) for short distances to support local drivers.
Accommodation ranges from comfortable boutique hotels in the cities to authentic, clean, and safe community homestays or farm-stays in the mountains. We prioritize local ownership.
In cities and most main towns, yes. However, during homestays and mountain retreats, signal may be weak or non-existent. We encourage you to embrace the disconnection.
Yes, every journey is accompanied by a licensed, English-speaking guide who acts as a cultural bridge between you and the local communities.
Philosophy & Sustainability
A significant portion of your tour fee goes directly into the hands of the local communities—paying for homestays, local meals, artisan workshops, and community funds.
We believe in wildlife welfare. Riding elephants damages their spines and requires cruel training methods. We only visit ethical sanctuaries where you observe them naturally.
Never. We co-design all itineraries with the communities. They decide what to share, when to host, and how many people they can welcome. They hold the power.
We provide refillable water bottles or large water stations in our vans. We politely ask hosts to avoid single-use plastics for our meals, utilizing banana leaves and natural materials instead.
Slow travel is our core philosophy. It means fewer destinations, but longer stays. It’s about deeply engaging with the culture and people, rather than rushing to check off a bucket list.
Preparation & Packing
Our tours run from November to February, which is the cool season in northern Thailand. Daytimes are pleasant (20-28°C), but nights and early mornings in the mountains can drop to 8-15°C.
We recommend packing in layers. Bring a warm jacket or fleece for the evenings, comfortable walking shoes (sneakers are fine), long pants for temple visits and jungle walks, and a reusable water bottle.
Most of our tours are suitable for ages 12 and up. However, our "Family Learning Camp" is specifically designed for families with children of all ages.
Routine vaccines are recommended. Please consult your doctor regarding travel to rural Thailand. Malaria is very rare on our specific routes, but mosquito repellent is highly recommended.
Yes! We work closely with our local hosts to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and specific food allergies. Please inform us at the time of booking.
